[AT] OT bore scope

I'm thinking about buying a bore scope  to look inside some of my antique 
"junk".
I see 4 versions in the $300. plus  or minus range.  They seem to come in 18 
and 38 inch and in 2  diameters. The larger diameter is around one half inch 
and the smaller is  about one quater inch.  Anyone have one of these and or
know if they  work? Does the smaller diameter give up some of the viewing  
field?
