As an old Navy man I can attest for the heat in  the Boiler room having spent 
sometime there. We used to sit under the big blower  just to keep cool enough 
to not pass out.  But then when you get up in the  northern part of the 
country around Alaska you can bet the heat from the boiler  is a welcome site.
