I realize that a new truck is worth less everyday.  It is up to each one of 
us what he or she wants to do with their spare time.  Work on something to 
drive or work on our tractors, hobbies, travel, etc.   Back in sept of 2000, I was 
working on my wife's suburban or my pickup that would not make a trip to the 
state line, or on my dad's Dodge pickup.  This had been going on for over 2 
years.  I then told my Dad that it was time he bought a new truck, and when he 
did, he WOULD buy the maximum extended warranty.  We got a 2000 Chevy 3500 
dually.  I since put a flat bed on it instead of the pickup bed, and have the 
pickup bed for sale.  A month later I bought a Suburban for my wife and then in 
Feb of 2001 I bought a F350 Powerstroke diesel for myself.  

I was doing the taxes for 2001 and 2002 and 2003 and noticed that my repair 
bills had dropped by about $400 per month.  that is for parts only...  I have 
more time to do other things now because I am not working on the worn out 
vehicles.  
It is an expense, but I noticed that the other guys that were having fun with 
their antique cars, and other hobbies were driving late model vehicles.....   
Now If I could afford some new farm equipment, I might be able to quit 
working on all this junk............

Besides, you can't take it with you.....
