John:

Ok, that precludes the use of the big type of tiller. I don't have anything
to recommend relative to the smaller types.

Thanks for all the replies.
The purpose of the tiller is the follow up after planting. I have a AC D10
that I use for plowing and discing and some of the cultivating but I find
the cultivator rips out too many of the plants. Therefore I want a self
propelled rototiller to go down the rows for the bulk of the weeding and
I'll finish off by hand. Sounds like a TroyBilt 8HP is best for my job. I
have heard about a Italian tiller that is supposed to be good. Any thoughts
on anything besides TroyBilt?
Thanks
John
