Vapor lock cannot occur on a fuel system where the tank is above the carb. 
Vapor lock is caused when the fuel pump over heats and the fuel vaporizes inside 
the pump.  If you have a tank that is above the carb then there is pressure 
on the system at all times. 
A lot of older cars had a heat shields between the fuel pump and the engine 
to stop vapor lock.
  I have heard of all kinds of ways to stop vapor lock but the best way to 
cure it is to just cool off the pump a little water poured directly on it will 
cause the vapor to condense.
