[AT] the 2004 Valu-Bilt catalog

I find it interesting that a company bothered to publish a used part
catalog. I never have seen the ones you guys are discussing, but the
general rule-of-thumb at the dealerships I've worked for over the years
is: Serviceable used parts are priced at 50% of new.

YMMV, and that may not be a universal technique, but I've run into it
often enough that I know it isn't something that was made up on the spur
of the moment.

I suppose part of the problem is that with old iron we're into a
cross-over business that falls somewhere between the "Antiques Road
Show" and a U-Pull-It auto salvage yard.

They did a lot with the older catalogs to set prices all
over the country but I think they got wise to the fact that a lot
of dealers were cutting their prices just enough to get the sales.
I've been in a lot of places looking for used parts and had the
seller (junkman) pull out a Central Tractor catalog and discount
off their price.
