Here's the way I see it.

All of those fellows are gonna get to fighting about who's gonna get that
thing.  The owner is going to get PO'd and tell them he's not gonna let any
of them have it and call Cecil to come take it off his hands.  Since Cecil
lives so far away he's gonna pay Cecil to come get it.
