As for an external source of constant oil flow that Bob mentions below, the
line that takes oil from the lower right side of the engine block (just aft
of the oil filter) up to the oil pressure gauge passes right by the aft side
of the valve cover - placing a Tee there might be a quick way to get oil in
to the valve cover -

That should work,  the Y blocks had a couple of plugs in the oil galleries
that we used, but any source of a constant flow of oil should work.
You can put a valve in the line to adjust the flow, or use the pinch down
the end of the copper line method, if you can not find a suitable valve.

Auto parts places use to sell kits to do this, but I have not seen one in
years.
