Dave,

All you have to remember is the strain on the aircraft is directly
proportional to the force applied to the stick.  It doesn't take much force
unless you try to make the loop round, as Gil has already said.  The Cub on
gear begs for a little forward stick at the top of the loop when the speed
is lowest, but in any case, you have to keep the speed under control on the
second half.

Handling the aircraft in unusual attitudes is part of really getting to
understand it, and much safer than unusual attitudes in tractors.  :-)
