Maybe this was a typo? - NT is not available any more. You have to buy
XP, then you can install NT with the XP license, assuming you can find a
copy of NT.
2nd caveat - you will have to get XP Pro to use NT.
3rd caveat - NT drivers are pretty limited and poorly supported, I would
say you would have a better chance of getting the stuff to work in
XP/2000.

Get a Gateway or a Dell, I prefer Gateway because their help desk is in
the US and speaks English, Dell is in India. I just bought 360 Gateways
to replace 3-4 year old ones, have had virtually no service issues.

Another note - I find it amusing that you can buy an 80gb HD for <$100,
but a 80gb backup system to save it all costs 10 times that.

you really can depend on it... Many thanks to all who responded-- NT
looks to be the popular choice, along with Dell. It sure makes it a
lot easier to "buy with confidence" with some good information under
your belt.

I am, as usual, in debt to the List-- I take away always more than I
offer. But, if anybody wants to know how to rebuild a carbuerator on a
1922 Dodge-- don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks again, all of you for the help. Carl in VT
