Lamborgini tractors [AT] Was Ford Parts

Mike,

Maybe you or someone else can confirm this story.  It's been a long time
since I heard it.

Another fancy car maker, I think it was Enzo Ferrari was looking for a set
of gears, and Lamborghini submitted a proposal.  The offer was rejected,
after all these were racing cars, not tractors, and Lamborghini was a lowly
tractor builder.  That snub was the motivation for Lamborghini to build his
own fine race cars.

Has anyone else heard this story?
