Thanks for all your hard work Spencer! It's greatly appreciated. Your
Farmall and Antique Tractor lists have helped me out of many a bind..

Just for a FYI. I sent that message at 8:31 you recieved it at 8:32:35 and
I recieved it back at 8:34. 3 minutes round trip - I'd say that's smokin'
for my needs.

Thanks again,
Lane Freeman

Subject: [AT] Timing tests

> Since there are still other users with delays, I went ahead and performed
a timing test. Here is the timing test for Lane Freeman's " Allis Chalmers
Model G decals" post originally sent by him this morning around 8:31 am EST.
The technical information follows after my signature for anyone that wants
to check my work:
>
> 1 - Received at ATIS at 8:32:35
> 2 - Turned around by mailing list software and outgoing messages begin
processing at 8:32:47
> 3 - All recipients without HARD errors (mailbox full, user unknown, etc)
received their message by 8:57 am
>
> This means the software delivered to all available mailboxes with 24
minutes. It does appear that some companies are at least sometimes queuing
these messages instead of immediately delivering them to their customers. I
have no idea how long the wait in the queue will be though. Refer to the
log entry below for Mattias Kessen copy of the message for his mail server's
response to see how queuing looks. Most ISPs don't respond with "Queued"
because they don't want anyone to know that they are queuing messages. So
the fact the response lacks "Queued" means nothing. If the response says
"Queued" then it was definitely queued.
>
> So - will all AOL folks that received Lane's 8:32 message in more than 24
minutes PLEASE contact me offline at Spencer.Yost at Piedmontsystems.com I
would like to get a copy of your message's headers.
