[AT] Way O.T. Hot spot.

Thanks for your words of caution, Jim. I just took looks at around 100
of the hits I got on Google with "Chernobyl deaths", and about 20 of the
hundreds of hits I got with "Chernobyl deaths hoax." Way too many hits
(over 500) show up with the hoax operator. I found some threads where
chat rooms are comparing the Angelfire site to its previous versions.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm being "had." The site may be based on
Chernobyl, but we're obviously being manipulated by the authors. Much
of the material mentioned in passing on the Angelfire site is direct
quotations of previously published accounts from a number of sources.
It's written as though the young lady is the author-biker-etc. Take
another close look at the photos. I suspect she didn't take any of them
and is simply a prop to gain reader interest.

Think about things such as laundry hanging outside -- winter and
summer-- for 18 years! Gimme a break! That's one of the direct quotes
I found. Only the reported time has been changed to make it conform to
the right date.

I'm done with it. Let's talk tractors.

Larry

I just read through about 20 of the 1000s of Chernobyl sites on the net.
Only 30 people died in the first couple of weeks. 600,000 people helped
in
the cleanup in the following 2 years. The reactor was still in
operation
until 2000. The vehicles were very contaminated, but I doubt anyone
was in
them.

George; I really don't think "still". At one time "maybe". The way I
understood the meltdown, almost any one could have had time to leave IF
they'd have known of the dire potential. Unless I'm badly mistaken
radiation
doesn't kill instantly except at the epicenter and here there was no
explosion. Surely they'd of had time to crawl out of the cab OR they'd
have
been taken out and at least buried.
