[AT] Rationale for firing orders

A trick I learn many years ago was to take the firing order divide it in half 
and put the last half directly under the first half.  This will give you the 
pistons that are opposite of each other.  To tell if number one is top dead  
center on compression then do this.

now turn the engine till number 4 valves are in position that when the engine 
is rocked back and forth the two valves on number 4 will close and open, the 
valves on number 1 will not move.  You can actually find top dead center 
without looking at the marks on the flywheel or the pully up front. where ever they 
are on your engine.  The same thing will work on any engine from 2 to 16 
cylinders that uses standard piston order. This is real handy for installing a mag 
or dist.
