Check to see how much play the steering gear has. Had a neighbor in 1960
that used a bicycle inner tube attached to the front steering post to keep
all the slack to one side so he could hold it on the road. It would run 25
mph in 4th.

I am going to look at a JD 40 that has been sitting for a while.  What
should I look for in this tractor as far as poblem areas?  It is a 1953
