Gene in a very remote area of eastern NC there were 2 brothers name Taylor
who made there living fishing and then eventually got into the shipping
business and got rich shipping banannas from central and south america to
the US. (If any of you have ever seen any fancy Kenworth or Peterbuilt
refrigerated trucks with Taylor Brothers Seafood, Atlantic NC on the door.
That is the guys)
The story has it that in the early 50's they pulled one of their banana
boats up into the canal in Miami, Fla., got off the boat in their nasty work
clothes with dirty hands and proceeded to try and check in to a swanky Miami
hotel.

The clerk or doorman or someone at the hotel gave them the bums rush and
showed them the door. The next day they owned the hotel and the guy that
showed them out was shown the door himself.
