[AT] Spring in Sask?

Maybe not quite spring but close enough today. Nobody could complain about
this weather. 30 degrees at daybreak and must be even more by now. Water
dripping off the roofs and the snow is getting wet. 5 cats enjoying the
warmth of the sun, rolling on a patch of praire that I uncovered with the
blade the other day.
Hard to believe only 40 hours ago I was out in a raging windstorm pulling a
truck out of the ditch where it was half buried in snow. The wind was strong
enough that even the approximate 15,000 pound tractor would sway when I was
parked.
Yes, I was using the big tractor, partially for comfort reasons but mainly
for the fact that the Cockshutt 40 was suddenly discovered to have no
working rear light. If you are going to use a rear mounted snow blower at
night time you better have a working rear light. Luckily the temp had been
in the high 20s all day so I was able to start the big diesel without
plugging in the block heater. Glad I had #10 oil in it though.
I've started some tentative spring clean up of the snowbanks around the yard
and driveway in hopes that we will not get buried in snow again. Its always
a gamble to start pushing up huge snowpiles even in March because we can
still get some huge snow storms well into the end of April.
Still, its moisture, which is usually welcome in farming country.
