A good choice in size and price might be a "C" Allis. The wide
fronts are a little scarce but my tricycle front C is quite stable. I
used to mow several factory lots that no one else would touch because
they were so squirrelly but the the little C with a mid mount cycle bar
only scared me a couple of times and that was on a lot that had huge
piles of dirt that had been dumped and had grown to tall weeds. I don't
have the rear wheels set to the narrowest setting but they are not the
widest either. Mine are not filled but filling the rears would make it a
lot more stable yet. They have a couple of more horses than the B too.
Mine has quite a few more since it has oversized pistons and sleeves in
it. Foot brakes of course. Some early ones had hand brakes but mine is a
1946 and has foot brakes.
