Did you find out the age of this 317?

Where did you read this serial number?  I just tried looking it up and it
doesn't come up valid for a 317.  I found a 318 with this number and it was
sold in 1990.

Guys where do I find a list of serial numbers that would identify JD lawn
Mower Serial # 12734M .
I have located one in fair shape for $300 and need to know it's age.
