Thank's for the information. More questions. I need front end
sheetmetal, what I call the nosepiece. Is reproduction sheetmetal
available. Also,will the nosepiece from an "M" series fit. I want to add

Lucky man, 1953ish - 1956ish.  Depends if you want the actual build date
or the model year (probably).  Do you have the serial number? 
Several people on this list have 40s and will be glad to have you join
