rick,
from your description, it sounds like it might have been a 1934 - 1936
or so.  If it were a '34 it would have part of the fanshaft exposed and
probably a brass carb.  maybe all carbs did that era???  Anyway, a
stuck '34 would bring that pretty easily, but parts are extremely
expensive when available (like the tranny cover - anyone priced one of
those for a '34?).  The spoke wheels have gone OUT-OF-SITE/REACH the
past few years.  If they were at all fixable, people can get $1500 for
a nice pair of rears.  People can now put new rims on them with the
factory look and still make money on the deal.  Front factory round
spokes are bringing an arm and leg too.  Factory flat spokes are a bit
cheaper, but they are climbing in price too.
So that probably explains some of the logic, but $2700 for a stuck
tractor is still plenty IMHO.
