Well, I'm on the road to getting it apart, actually, on the road alot....

I have yet to get the top shaft w/ the taper bearings off so I can get to
the bottom bearing.  This box sounds different, the "box" is in two parts, 4
cap screws let the front of the box off easily.  Unfortunately, the pin in
the front of the box for the mount piviot has a cap screw for some reason
and it twisted off.  I had to take the bearings to someone who has a press,
but they can't get them off either, so they are going to have to tourch em.

The start of the problem was that the bolts holding the cutter bar came
loose.  Don't use a wobble box to crack JD 5/8" self locking nuts, it's
expensive.  When the nut got loose, it broke the bolts on one of the pillow
block bearings. I think I'll get this rebuild for about $150.  I hope
anyway.
