[AT] Screwing roofing

I have done all three. Lead seal nails in old corrugated roofing, screws with
neoprene seals in flats and ridges.

Lead seal nails (ring shank) worked loose and leaked.

Screws have never come out (except where I missed).

There have been occasional leaks with the screws, usually where I over tightened
them or got them in at an angle.

One building is 11 years old and one is 15. Both of these with screws have the
screws in the flats and on the ridges of the overlap, into the purlin below.
Never had a screw come loose, even in the temperature extremes we have in the
Dakotas. 2000 screws in each hanger, wore out a drill just driving them.

Go with the screws, anywhich way you want, and don't worry about it. :)

Stuart
