[AT] How to seat the bead on lawn tractor tires?

A diesel engine is putting it in a 300:1 compression ratio. Putting it
inside a tire and igniting it is burning it with no compression. The
results are "not exactly" the same. Since it's already a gas, the
expansion during combustion is not going to be very much. As George
says, you get a satisfying "whump." Some of the chemists on the list
could probably tell us what the expansion properties of a non-compressed
ether-air mixture would be.

If too much can blow the head off a diesel engine I wonder what is too
much
for a tire.
