My suggestion would be leghold traps.  Sounds like you coould bait it with a 
new tire!!!  (grin)  Never trapped one and only found a quill in a dogs nose 
one night and there are not supposed to be any around here in OKlahoma....    
So how did she get the quill?????

They cannot throw quills, only hit you with the tail...   catch it in the 
trap and then shoot it....

never heard of their appetite for rubber.....
