[AT] desulphating battery chargers

Mine is a WM-10000 $89 @ Wally, wide flat box, purple heat sink, 6+12 V..

Box says desulphating at the lower right corner of the box face,
and directions mention it was toward the end of the book.
Sounds like they're not pushing it too hard.

I really like it because of the built in test meter functions.
When you plug it in, it comes up in TEST mode, so you can check the battery
state
before putting it on charge.

Jury is still out on the desulphating part. I tried it on a very dead L+G
battery.
It was desulphating (charge light blinks) when I had to shut it down acct rain.
Restarted next day, it straight charged (no blinks) + reported battery @ 100%.
But next day battery was down to 70%, charger brought it up to 100% pretty
quick.

So I've let the battery sit about a week, and will check it again today.
Maybe a couple charge cycles will help it.

If it does save the battery, that's about half the cost of the charger,
and I have several others to try it on.

It has other features, like reverse voltage protection, and selection of
many battery types, and it's built nice.
It has a start mode, haven't tried that yet. It looks like a really good
charger for the price.

Another mode I've seen it go into is flipping back and forth between CHARGE
and TEST.
It appears this was happening when I didn't have good connections.

In answer to some other comments about high charging rates, the issue is
to not exceed what the battery wants to accept at its state of charge.
This charger is claimed to do that, fast initial charge, tapering off.
