[Steam-engine] Greenville, OH...Joke?

Greenville used to be a single show, at the fairgrounds.
However, that location was too restrictive in space and fair board rules.

To solve this, several years ago, the club bought the large parcel of land 
north of town.
Many of the gas tractor folks got mad, and split off into a separate club,
back at the fairgrounds, with a competing show on the same weekend.
Partly, the coal smoke messes up the expensive tractor paint jobs.

Apparently the steam guys are doing OK out there, there have been several
facilities improvements, including a rather nice washroom building.
My understanding is that they are not yet using all their land.

To me, there is no competition, we've driven thru the gas show grounds,
zillions of really shiny tractors (ie, better than factory new condition),
and nothing much for them to do except sit there. Why bother.

It really hurt to miss the show this year, meaning we also missed the AFM @ 
WPAFB.
Consolation was that Wauseon was great this year, I guess due to perfect 
weather for a change.

We saw a sad situation a few weeks ago, at the formerly great Marion OH show.
Seems there's now another competing show the same weekend 20 miles up the road.
So now there are 2 small shows instead of one good one. Lots of unhappy 
people there.

Furthermore, the Marion show stopped having steam, supposedly vendors 
complained about the smoke.
We would have skipped the show completely, if it weren't for the great 
Huber/Marion Museum,
and train watching at the station (3 busy main lines cross right there).
