[AT] john deere g value

I have a friend who has a 1953 John Deere G that he bought new.  It is 
unrestored farm tractor that hasn't run in 3 years.  He says it will 
run.  Tires marginal.  He said it was made in the last batch of G's 
made.  He wants $2800 for it.  This seems very high to me. Does anyone 
have any idea what would be a fair value for it?  Dan
P.S. He sold his property  that he has lived on since 1939 and I watched 
as they crushed and hauled off more that 100 tons of old farm stuff.  
Old combines, implements,cars, etc.
