[AT] OT-error message

After an automatic Microsoft update to Windows XP ( I now think it was a
dumb ass thing to do.) I now get the error message almost everytime I try to
close any operation.

As follows 

The instruction at "0x77c3b964" referenced memory at 0x00000003."
The memory could not be written."

Not sure if the problem is related to the update or some other glitch in my
system (computer that is)

Any suggestions
