Dean,
 Sorry but it's an old delicacy that I really don't know the origins of.
Around here it's usually a nice thick 1/4" or better slice of Amish
bologna topped with some Swiss cheese, slice of sweet onion, relish
or sweet pickles and of course mustard. There is a little bar in Waldo
Ohio that is famous for making them. I know of a guy at work that
about once a month would make a sandwich run up to get them. It
took about 2 hours round trip but he had orders for around 25 or
more easily. If were talking about good tractor show eats the guy
in the infield at Wapak sells sausage sandwiches that are at least 1/4
pound and priced VERY reasonable.
