Yes it was stamped  . But this one was so faint I didn't want to wipe it out
trying . I managed to take a small wire brush and a scotch pad and buff it
enough to make out Mod  AB   423503       2 1/2 X 2 3/4  .    I tried the
pencil and paper with no luck .
 Anyhow , I found a broken wire where it attached to a field coil , fixed it
and happy to report that it is running now . Wow an 1800 rpm gen sure is
quiet, especially compared to the new ones .  Thanks for the help . Ivan
