[AJD] can I use the 820 exaust valve in my D?

Kevin,
Well, I hope JD still has a copy of the Field Service Bulletins, although in
1987 the archives didn't have a complete set from #53 on (but I do :). Most
parts guys probably wouldn't even know about them. They include valve info
for most models in one form or another.
Regarding parts interchange, the Master Parts Index contains that info - it
lists a part number (no description) and every application of that part,
along with its weight. Needless to say it is pretty thick - haven't seen a
cd of the MPI.

Dee, Duane,John,
Thanks for your response.
The D'S valve is quite large: head diameter is1-3/4 in in dia.
Stem Dia is .621
in
Overall length 8-3/4
in.
Face angle 30
degrees
I agree that the 820 valves are a bit small.
Would anyone know if John Deere has a chart of the valve specs?
cross ref to part number?
That way it would be easier to look up interchanges of parts!
thanks Kevin
