Cribbing (was Re: [AT] Shop Toys For Christmas ?

For an (almost) infinite supply of cribbing, hang around a development 
where they are installing decks on the houses/condos. They will have 
piles of 6" to 2' lengths of 4x4 and 6x6 treated lumber that they would 
be more than happy for you to take away. That is how I got my pile. And 
the nice thing is that, being treated, I can leave it outdoors. Just 
check for cracks before putting any weight on a piece. You might also 
want to see if your local lumber yard (not one of the chains) has any 
defective pieces that have parts that can be salvaged - they will 
usually give them away.
