[AT] OT.---Tools & fun

About a month ago I decided that my need for a small bandsaw had come to the
top of my want list. After lots of reading on the Internet it seemed to me
that the model G0555 from Grizzly would be a good choice and would meet my
needs (wants) I also bought the cast Iron block that increases the throat
height to 12 inches. This kit also includes a longer loop blade and guide
rod.

Grizzly has three warehouses one in Pennsylvania, one in Washington state,
and the one nearest to Mcloud, Oklahoma in Springfield Missouri. 

After a little trip planning we decided to make the trip to South Eastern
Missouri to Springfield and then include taking in a show at the town of
Branson Missouri a few miles to the south.

The Springfield Grizzly showroom has about 22 thousand square feet of
display area and some 400 thousand square feet of warehouse space.  For
anyone that appreciates power tools this place is a dream come true. If you
have a chance visit. They also offer one of the most complete free tool and
supplies catalogues you will find anywhere. Been through Springfield several
times but this was my first visit to Grizzly. 

After making the deal to purchase the saw we motored on to Branson and at
the recommendation of our son David took in the Paul Harris Show.  As it
turned out it was the last show of the season,  Good music and lots of
comedy.

My only investment I have in the above is the price of the saw and cost of
the tickets and a two day road trip. Had fun. I have ordered a carbide
tipped blade for doing some resaw work.
