Gene,
You're absolutely correct about missing a devoted dog when they are
gone.
Our dog was a Border Collie/Aussie mix and a true friend of everyone !
She died on a Monday AM and the following Saturday we had a new pure
Aussie.
I wasn't for getting one so soon but "She who must be obeyed" wanted
to get
the first pup we had looked at. Certainly, they tie you down but
believe me, getting
the new pup so soon was definitley no mistake in our case. This was
just over
3 years ago. He relieved alot of heartache.
Our Aussie is "the one" they wrote all the Aussie books from.....he is
unbelievably
smart. He won't let us out of sight....must be touching us all the
time. The funniest
thing is when we need to go use the "throne", he lays himself between
our feet
and the throne. He has to put us to bed at night, lays between our
head and the
headboard. Lays there for 10 to 20 mins then walks off the foot end
of the bed and
lays on the floor the rest of the night !! Very protective,.... a
little too much so !
He's a real character. Could go on forever about him !!
