JR/Duane:

My mistake. A reference to the AA642R light assembly is in 57-R (1943) &
47-R (1940). It was so obvious I missed it, at the very top of the page. It
is the KW lighting package, not the later lights. See pages 45 and 44
respectively.

I do have the Supplement for the 57R dated August 15, 1944, which isn't
helpful in this regard. Was there one for the 47-R?? If so I am missing that
one.

In the process though I discovered I have DIR 348 dated 10-44, which offers
Instructions for installation of friction Drive Fan (Replaces Rubber-Mounted
Fan). The illustration in this DIR clearly shows that a generator pulley is
included.

JR:

Interesting, that assembly number don't show up in either one of the Repair
Catalogs dated 1940 or 1943 or the PC published in 1960. Is that the
assembly # of the KW lights?

Wholesale Price List No.113 from the Moline Branch, dated November 1, 1936,
lists the AA642R Electric Lighting Outfit for "AR" and "AO" Tractors
250000-up. I have seen a factory photo of a VERY early "AO" equipped with
this lighting outfit. The generator was driven from the front of the
fanshaft.

Check out page 47 in Repair Catalog 47-R about the middle of the page:

Dean,
Repair Catalog 45R (8/15/36) lists KW lighting outfits for the whole A
series, including the AR and AO, as well as the B series including the BR
and BO. The AOS section of 45R supplement (3/15/38) does not list any
lighting equipment for it. The AOS serial numbers start with AO1000, and
are not included in the 250000-up scheme.

Some AO/BO advertising I have which shows the AOS lists lighting for the BO
but not the AO(S). This would be consistent with 45R and the supplement.
As you point out, on the AOS(treamlined) it would be hard to find a place
for lighting. And all KW lighting systems used 7" flat lens lights, best as
I can figure. I don't see where in 47R that lighting is for the AR and
excludes the AO, as it is listed under the AR-AO column and there are no (AR
ONLY) words like exist for some of the braking systems.

Later date catalogs generally show what would fit, not what was originally
available.

Regarding your AO, if you have a fan with a friction disk (and not the
original rubber insert) I think the pulley was a part of it to provide a
place for the spring which loaded the friction clutch to reside against.
