According to the book, the all fuel does develop less HP than the gas
models. The LP's I've looked up develop more HP than the gas. Per the parts
manual, at least for the 630's, there is a different set of pistons for each
(gas/all fuel/LP).

I think what we are talking about here is a gas or an all fuel model using
two different fuels. My understanding of the all fuel was that the
kero/dislat/powerfuel fuel was a longer burning fuel, thus giving the all
fuel more lugging power. Using gas, a shorter burning fuel will not take
advantage of the long stokes of the all fuel two cylinder's. The compression
is much lower on the all fuel models. End of my knowledge on the subject.

I have found that using a hot coil and gapping my spark plugs around 50-60
thousands on my 630, it runs better. After I changed out the coil and
gapped the plugs, first start up I noticed the idle was much smoother. Why
not, that's what our current car are doing to burn today gas.

Merle:

Now that is really interesting. It has always been my understanding that the
all fuel JD's developed less HP when running on Distillate. Is Kerosene that
much different? Did your pull end due to running out of HP or traction?

Now I'm really confused again. Normal for me I guess! :-)

For the fun of it, I made a 1st pull with an "A" on gasoline, 2nd pull on
kerosene. Pulled 4 foot further on kero.
