Hi Steve,

I don't know if anyone from the list knew Neil other than from the list. 
There was some attempt made to contact family members after he died but the 
family either didn't read his e-mail, cut off his account before seeing the 
messages or just didn't care enough to reply.  All I know is that he was 
kind and helpful to me.

Motorbooks was his publisher.   I don't know if anyone there has contact 
with his family or has personal information on him.
