John,
Congratulations to the new owner of a beaner!  Paul Ostrander will have the
most knowledgable contributions to this question, but he has written some
articles in Two Cylinder and Green Magazine as I recall describing the
beaners.  Does it have a swinging seat?  That was another (often found) item
on a beaner.  The blocks and heads for the big bore GPs like yours are more
expensive than the small bore ones.  Dave Cook in Wisconsin usually has a
good selection of GP parts, call him at 715-373-2092.  Prices are not always
the lowest, but he has good stuff in my experience, and he will deal on
quantity.
