I have a Hobart 135. It is a great welder. It took me about 2 years to
actually buy one because my experience with a Lincoln and Snap-On 110V
welders told me they were all junk. The flux core wire worked really well,
but I have never bought any more since I ran out. I have used regular wire
and gas since then. The Hobart also can use fairly large spools of wire.
I think they are 10 or 20 lbs.
I use the Hobart most of the time and have a Lincoln Buzz box for when I
need good penetration in rust or am welding fairly heavy stuff. If I didn't
have the Lincoln, the Hobart with flux core wire would also do the majority
of that type of work.

Subject: [AT] Wire welder question
I was wondering if any body has experiance with Hobart wire welder, I have
used Miller 250 most of my work time and was looking at getting a wire
welder for the garage. I see Hobart in the norther catalog has a Ironman 210
at a pretty good price, also the handler 140. I checked with the local
miller dealer on the 175 mig that goes either 120 or 230 and they want
$1000.00 for it and there Millermatic 210 is around $1250.00.
I know the miller machines and thats the only dealer in this town and Hobart
dealer is 120 miles away, So what I kinda need to know is if any of you have
a Hobart and how there warranty is etc.
Also do any of you have experiance with the the 120 volt Miller and Hobart
welders like the 140 handler or miller 135 , 175 using flux wire.
I like the thought of 120 volt for ease of finding a plug in for it away
from the shop.
any thoughts out there?
Thanks
Don
