It sounds like you bought a bad batch of batteries. I would contact the
manufacturer and see if they might do something about replacing them. I
have not had batteries leak unless I left them in the device for a long
time (like a year). That is one reason I am very happy with my Sony and
its NiMH battery pack. It is old and cumbersome, but I can take pictures
of tractors all day and not worry about the battery.
