Hi all,

Lisa and I went to that Hein acreage auction Ralph and I were talking
about last week.

Interesting auction, but we did not come home with more than a few
nick-nacks. They were even selling the acreage property by auction, and
being so close to where we are now, my wife and I thought we might try and
buy it. We didn't get it, but we came pretty close. Oh well, maybe next
time.

The tractors went pretty cheap I thought. Dad watched them go while I was
over at the other ring buying some good "junk" so I did not get the prices
written down. I think the 930 Case only got $1500 or so - good deal. I
think the Cockshutt 30 went for about $1000. The IHC W4 went for $1600. I
think the JD AR got $3200? The AC B got $2200 or so and thats all I
remember about the tractors. The only other "big" thing that I was sot of
interested in was the old road maintainer. It sold for $900 - about $500
more than I wanted to pay. The JD PTO drive binder went for $800. Oh yeah,
and that IH 4x4 truck? I think it got $200 or so.

I did get a couple of neat items though. I scored a nice little 1/2 ton
chain-fall hoist for $20 and I also got a good flywheel for my D for $25 -
nice! The only other good score for me was a whole pallet of huge flat
drive belts for $70! I counted five good 100' x 7" (50' OAL) endless
thresher drive belts in there as well as several 50' x 6" (25' OAL) grain
grinder belts. If anyone is in need of a belt to drive their clubs
seperator, let me know.

On another positive note, Lisa had a great time and want to go to more
sales! What that?! I don't know where her new-found interest in auctions
is coming from, but you can bet I'll be taking advantage of it. She even
gave me some money to buy stuff with! Life is great!
