[AT] shifter knob removal

Hi Ralph. How large is the knob that you need/want to remove? Some time ago
I had the same chore and I soaked the rubber boot in VERY hot water, Greased
up the knob with some high temp grease and slid the boot over the knob. I
forget just how much difference there was but it was considerable. Good
