[AT] My Portland request...

      Many of us really look forward all year to the Portland show. For me 
personally it is the gathering of friends more than the show. We come from 
all over and from many backgrounds and situations. In the spirit of good 
friendships I would like to request that "everybody" just for that week 
forget that this in an election year...  Nobody ever changed another 
persons mind about politics by taking potshots at another persons opinions. 
If you feel a snipe welling up in the back of your throat just bite your 
tongue and let it die. Is it really that hard to control? Saying it will 
accomplish nothing and may generate hard feelings that can ruin someone's 
evening. (I'm talking both sides here guys...)
      Don't get me wrong, I get a chuckle out of many of the things that 
hit my private mailbox and the few that I might disagree with just slide 
off, no harm, no foul.   :-)
      A lot of folks feel really strongly about such matters and jabbing 
them while sitting around the fire contributes nothing...
      Getting down off of my soapbox now and hoping that everybody here can 
use enough control to keep from responding in a partisan manner. I said 
both sides and I meant both sides.
