John,

No, the plug I am referring to is metal and about the size of say three or
four silver dollars stacked on top of each other. The plug attaches to the
vertical outside surface of the disc brake cup and can be pried off with a
screwdriver.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that removal of the cup PLUG allowed a
short shaft with a chain sprocket to be inserted and that the chain could
then drive a seed plate whose speed (RPM) would be determined by the ground
speed of the tractor - maybe someone who actually knows what I am trying to
talk about can clarify this.

Dudley, by cup plugs I assume you mean a rubber boot around the brake
rod? This '43 has a rubber plug on one side but both sides have the lips
for rubber plugs. I guess these units might have been taken off of a later
H or SH. John
