[AT] 630 handclutch and charging problem

If it is showing a possitive charge and eveything is connected correctly then 
the generator is properly polarized. I would put the battery on a differant 
charger and see what happens. It is also possable that the gauge is damaged and 
is not giving you the proper reading. I would get someone who knows the 
system or a good book and check to make sure that everything is wired correctly 
befor going any farther. 
You can check the gauge by hooking the charger to the generator side and then 
check to see that the gauge is reading a charge or a discharge. Remember 
which way the polarity goes when doing this. It would seem to that if the battery 
is possitive ground then the power should go from the the Gen. the meter to 
the ground. I know this seems backwards but remember the system is wired up 
backwards to start with. Your frame is positive and your wires are negative or 
ground. I never did understand the reason for wiring a vehicle like this but some 
companies did, i think they just wanted to be differant.
