Ricky; I know very little about a John Deere but it sounds like something is
killing your spark.
Pull the plugs and crank it with the starter motor to see if you have spark
at the plugs. If you do, I'd say the starter motor is sapping the battery
when cranking against the compression. If so, follow Walt's advise and clean
everything up, that should do it unless the starter is bad (dragging). Gil
