[AT] OFF TOPIC - 7.3 L Diesel Air Filter - 2003 Ford F250

This air filter thing may have been iscussed before.     

My 7.3 Power stroke has had a new air filter every year....   Except this 
spring after I traveled 2000 miles with a loaded trailer.   It had a 10 month old 
filter in it.  What I found was that the filter is fine if you never run 
loaded with the transmission in Overdrive.  However, with a 3.73 rear end and 
locked out of overdrive and running 70 to 80 mph, there is enough air going into 
the filter to carry some serious dirt..     The air filter indicator had noted 
the increase in the restriction and had pullede halfway down...   It takes a 
lot of air volume to make a restriction indicator pull down, since these 
filters are somewhat oversized.  I have a brand new K&N airfilter for a 95 7.3 liter 
that I would like to sell.  It is still in the box.  I prefer to remain 
stock....
